Lucia is a self-taught artist originally from Cusco, Perú, who moved to New Zealand in late 2020. As an artist, she doesn’t feel constrained by rules and is guided more by inspiration in the moment than by careful planning. She creates intricate designs using acrylic paints on canvas, allowing her creativity to flow freely—often becoming immersed in fine details as a way to escape the trials and stresses of daily life.
Influenced by the colours and shapes found in nature, and infused with a touch of sass, her work gives voice and power to perspectives beyond the mainstream. This freedom of expression brings her a sense of peace and self-assurance, enabling her to connect with new people and places. In turn, it has given her the confidence and freedom to pursue her goals as an artist.
